Fingerprinting

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office offers fingerprinting services at its Sarasota headquarters located at 6010 Cattleridge Blvd. Please bring valid photo identification and a fingerprint card (which should be provided by the agency requiring your fingerprints). We will provide the standard FBI-258 Applicant Card for anyone needing a fingerprint card. We also offer electronic fingerprinting services.

Effective Monday, June 29, 2020, the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office will offer fingerprinting services only to Sarasota County residents & non-residents employed in Sarasota County by appointment only. Services are offered at our Sarasota headquarters located at 6010 Cattleridge Blvd., Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Services not provided on weekends or holidays.)

To schedule your appointment, contact our Fingerprint/Offender Registration Technician by phone at 941.861.4728. Appointments are offered every 20 minutes during normal business hours. (Services not provided on weekends or holidays.)

Please note: Any citizen seeking fingerprinting services as well as any sex offender or predator completing registration, MUST WEAR A MASK to our Sarasota headquarters. This protocol will remain in place until otherwise specified. Citizens will NOT be offered services if they are not wearing a mask. In an abundance of caution, sheriff’s office personnel conducting fingerprinting and registration services will ALSO wear masks. If you feel sick or are experiencing symptoms of COVID19, PLEASE stay home.

The cost for this service is $5 per person for CWP prints and $15 for all other types of prints. All payments must be made in cash. (No checks or money orders will be accepted.)

SEXUAL PREDATORS/OFFENDERS

Any person who has been legally classified as a Sexual Predator or Sexual Offender must report in person at least twice a year (during the month of his/her birth month and in the 6th month thereafter) to the sheriff’s office headquarters in the county in which he or she resides. Failure to comply with this requirement is a 3rd-degree felony. The hours for the sexual offender and predator registration are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  For more information, contact the Forensic Identification Unit at 941.861.4728.

CRIMINAL/CAREER OFFENDERS

Due to statutory requirements, criminal and career offender registrations take place at the Sarasota County Correctional Facility located at 2020 Main Street. Registration is available 24/7/365.
