COMMISSARY SERVICES

Commissary service is provided to inmates by Trinity Services Group. Available items for purchase include personal grooming products, snacks and games.

  • Money orders may be mailed to inmates at: Access Corrections, P.O. Box 12486 St. Louis, MO 63132
  • Deposits are accepted at an automated Kiosk located in the jail lobby, 2020 Main St.
  • The Kiosk is available 24 hours a day and accepts cash or credit/debit cards (NO money orders or $1 bills). There is a service charge of $4.00 for cash deposits and $4.00 for credit/debit card deposits.
  • Money may also be deposited 24/7 at www.smartdeposit.com or by calling 1.866-394-0490 Monday –Friday between the hours of 08:00 AM and 08:00 PM.. The Pay Location is Sarasota County FL.  The ID number is the inmate PIN number.
  • There is a $3.95 service charge for phone transactions and $2.95 for internet transactions. The minimum deposit amount is $25 and the maximum is $100. There is also a deposit limit of $200 per week. Only five transactions are allowed per inmate and per credit card number.
  • Any liens on the inmate's account will be debited from deposits and the inmate will receive the remaining balance, if any.

Deposits are non-refundable and commissary orders may not be returned. If an inmate is released before placing a commissary order their account balance will be refunded in the form of a check.

If an inmate is released after placing an order they will have three (3) days to pick it up. After that time it will be disposed of. Inmates transported to another facility can designate a family member or friend to pick up the order within three (3) days.

Indigent inmates shall receive up to $1.50 in commissary items two times per week (Indigent is defined as a balance of $.00 in their account for 14 days or more). Indigent inmates may not order items provided by the detention facility, such as soap, toothbrush, toothpaste or food items, including coffee.

How to order a MyCarePack

INMATE MEAL COST
In accordance with FSS 951.033, it is the policy of the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office to have inmates defray the cost of their incarceration in order to help alleviate the increasing financial burden of housing inmates. All inmates will receive the same level of meal service regardless of their ability to pay.

Inmates will be charged for three (3) trays daily, regardless whether or not they eat. The inmate cost will be $1.50 per day until further notice.

An inmate is considered indigent for meal purposes ONLY if his/her commissary balance is $0

Any portion of meal charge that brings an inmate’s balance below $0 WILL appear as a lien on the account. A meal will be added to $0 balance in form of a lien.

Inmates, to include Florida Department of Corrections Boarders, will be charged for their meals upon entering the facility.

Sentenced working inmates, pre-trial inmates working voluntarily in the kitchen, and Federal Boarders are not charged for meals. Meal charges cease as soon as practical after appropriate documentation is received concerning sentenced and voluntary working inmates.

MEDICAL HEALTH SERVICES
Inmates are afforded routine and emergency medical health services as requested or required. Non-emergency requests will be charged a minimal fee for service. There is never a charge for emergency services. No inmate will be denied medical care for any reason.

A non-emergency medical service that brings an inmate’s balance below $0 WILL appear as a lien on the account.

Medical Fees– A medical request form must be filled out for medical problems or request for treatment. Nurses will pick up these requests at each cell block during their rounds twice a day. Inmates will be charged for medical services as follows:

Doctor’s Call $10.00
Dentist’s Call $10.00
Each Prescription $10.00
Nurse’s Call $5.00

Non-Emergency outside health providers: (doctors, dentists, other health providers): Inmates may be charged actual costs directly to that provider. Requests for outside health providers must be approved by Administration.

Obstetrical or psychiatric related services/prescriptions: No Cost
Emergency Treatment in jail: No Cost
Routine dental exam+ x-ray: $10.00
Follow ups ordered by medical staff: No Cost
TB Testing: No Cost
Pregnancy Test (requested by inmate): $5.00
Non-Emergency transport: Cost Varies

INMATE TELEPHONE SERVICES
The inmate telephone service provider is Global Tel*Linkwww.connectnetwork.com 

Friends and family members will need to establish a pre-paid collect account with Global Tel*Link. Friends and family members can contact Global Tel*Link at 800-483-8314 or visit www.connectnetwork.com to set up a new pre-paid collect account.

The per minute calling rates will be as follows:

Ways to Avoid Disconnection

  1. Do not attempt 3-way calls.
  2. Do not ask the called part to place the call on hold or transfer the call.
  3. Encourage the called party to disable the call waiting feature.
  4. Do not tap on the phone receiver or manipulate the phone cord.
  5. Do not press keys on the key pad during the call.

INMATE TABLETS SERVICES

The Sarasota County jail issues Global Tel*Link’s tablets to inmates which will provide the ability to purchase per minute time to selective services including the ability to stream music and play games.

Jail policy and GTL terms and conditions apply to all tablets services. The Sarasota County Jail will issue a tablet to inmates at their discretion.

To purchase time for tablet use, friends and family members will need to deposit funds into an Account by visiting Global Tel*Link at https://www.gettingout.com or download the GettingOut app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Friends and family members will need the inmate First Name, Last Name and Resident ID.

There is no charge for a tablet. The tablet is a privilege that may be revoked. No refunds will be given for remaining subscription time if an inmate is released or for loss of tablet privileges.
