
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) has arrested four individuals following the execution of a search warrant at a residence located at 2903 Leisure Place, Sarasota. The operation, conducted on November 20, 2025, culminated in the seizure of 33.8 grams of methamphetamine, three clonazepam pills, additional unidentified pills, and other drug paraphernalia.
The arrests were the result of a collaborative effort by the SCSO Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Narcotics Enforcement Teams, and Patrol and Tactical Units, with assistance from the Sarasota Police Department SWAT team. Acting on a residential search warrant obtained on November 15, 2025, the teams targeted a location that had been the subject of numerous community complaints and Crime Stoppers tips regarding suspected drug activity.
The individuals arrested are as follows:
- Howard Evans, B/M, DOB 06/19/87: Charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.
- Michelle Galup, W/F, DOB 09/20/70: Charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine 2nd Tier 28+ grams and Possession of Controlled Substance Clonazepam.
- Barbara Hunt, W/F, DOB 09/05/73: Charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.
- Brenton Perkins, W/M, DOB 09/25/84: Charged with two active Misdemeanor Warrants for Petit Theft and Criminal Mischief.
This action is a direct response to the community’s reports, highlighting the importance of public vigilance in enhancing neighborhood safety. The sheriff's office acknowledges the crucial role of community cooperation in addressing and dismantling local drug operations.
