Sheriff Hoffman Holds Promotion Ceremony

Sarasota County Sheriff Kurt A. Hoffman is proud to announce the promotion of two sheriff’s office members in a ceremony held on Thursday.

Deputy Clayton Reese was promoted to sergeant assigned to the agency’s Patrol Bureau. He joined the agency in 2015 as a deputy in patrol.  For four years, Reese served as a field training deputy instructing and mentoring newly hired deputies. Twice in his career, he has been nominated for Employee of the Month and has received three Life Saving Awards. Sergeant Reese holds an Associate of Arts from State College of Florida.

Deputy Pilot David Bouffard was promoted to chief pilot in the agency’s Aviation Section. He was hired by the sheriff’s office in 2009 as a deputy pilot. Bouffard has been nominated for Employee of the Month and received a Meritorious Achievement Award in 2021 as a member of the Aviation Section. He holds an impressive list of licenses and certifications from the Federal Aviation Administration, while also serving as a flight, instrument, and ground instructor. He has also logged over 9,700 hours of documented flight time. Chief Pilot Bouffard holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Colorado University.
