Sex Offender Registration

NEWS RELEASE 19-163 - SEPTEMBER 26, 2019
Thomas, Henry
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public that Henry Thomas, Jr., DOB 03/28/70, has registered as a Sexual Offender living in Sarasota County.

Thomas was convicted in 2016 in Manatee County of Unlawful Sexual Activity with Certain Minors 16 or 17 Years Old. He was sentenced to four years in prison with credit for time served. Thomas was recently released and reports he is transient living in the area of 10th Street and Central Avenue in the city of Sarasota. The registration of a “location” and not a physical address is allowable by Florida law for homeless or transient persons, but a transient offender or predator must register their address with the sheriff’s office every 30 days. Thomas is not currently under the supervision of the Florida Department of Corrections, and based on the criteria of his conviction, residency restrictions do not apply.

This information is posted on the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office website, agency Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts to publicly notify citizens of sexual offenders and predators who register a Sarasota County address for the first time, when moving into the county or following release from prison. Citizens should still sign up to receive notifications from FDLE of sex offenders and predator registrations.
