The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office charged a 40-year-old Venice man Tuesday with 21 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
Detectives began their investigation in August after receiving information that a particular server was used to possibly download images of child pornography. On Tuesday, detectives executed a search warrant at 1252 Barbara Drive Apt. 802 in Venice. The investigation revealed John Banda, DOB 12/26/78, lived at the residence and downloaded the images to his phone. Detectives recovered a total of 21 images depicting child pornography.
Banda is charged with 21 counts of Possession of Child Pornography and is being held at the Sarasota County Jail without bond. The investigation is ongoing.
