Sex Offender Registration

NEWS RELEASE 18-192 - NOVEMBER 28, 2018
Hall, Norman

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public that Norman Leonard Hall, DOB 08/07/61, has registered as a sexual offender living in Sarasota.

Hall’s original offenses stem from Flagler County in 1979 when he pled no contest to two counts of Accessory to Sexual Battery with a Weapon or Force, Felony Kidnapping, and Armed Burglary. He was sentenced to 45 years in prison. In 1983, he was convicted in Desoto County of Prison Escape and Armed Robbery and sentenced to an additional 10 years behind bars to run concurrent with his original sentence. In 1986, he was again convicted in Polk County of Accessory to Prison Escape and sentenced to three years in prison. Three months later, Hall was again charged in Sumter County with Prison Escape, Armed Robbery, Felony Kidnapping, Battery on Law Enforcement Officer, and Grand Theft of Firearm. Hall was sentenced to a combined 17 additional years behind bars; all of which ran concurrent with his original sentence.

Hall was most recently released from prison in August and has just moved from Milton, Florida to Sarasota County. He reports his address will be 1662 Independence Blvd. Apt. A, in Sarasota. He is not currently under the supervision of the Florida Department of Corrections and because his original conviction was prior to 2004, residency restrictions do not apply.

This information is posted on the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office website, mobile app, agency Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts to publicly notify citizens of sex offenders and predators who register a Sarasota County address for the first time, when moving into the county or following a release from prison. Citizens should still sign up to receive notifications from FDLE of sex offenders and predator registrations.
