Methamphetamine Arrest

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 52-year-old Sarasota man on drug charges after he sold undercover detectives methamphetamine on two separate occasions.
 
The investigation began in October when Kevin Maness, DOB 01/30/68, sold Special Investigation Section detectives more than two grams of methamphetamine on October 29 and October 30. On both occasions, Maness utilized a cellphone to facilitate the transactions. Maness was arrested January 24 and charged with two counts of Sale of Methamphetamine and a single count of Use of a Two Way Communications Device to Facilitate a Felony. He remains in custody on $35,000 bond.
 
Maness, of 4116 Locust Avenue, has prior arrests for Fraud, Possession of a Controlled Substance without Prescription, Possession of Methamphetamine, and more.
