The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office TAC Unit deputies arrested a convicted felon Tuesday morning just before 9:00 a.m. after executing a search warrant on his Sarasota home and uncovering various rounds of ammunition and drug paraphernalia.
Deputies initially arrived at 2531 Man Of War Circle in Sarasota to assist Probation and Parole officers as a probation search was being conducted on the residence of John C. Slattery, DOB 2/20/77. Slattery was on probation for an arrest made October 9 when he fired a weapon inside his home while under the influence of methamphetamine. When officers contacted Slattery they found him in possession of multiple folding knives, brass knuckles, and ammunition. Deputies then obtained a search warrant for the residence and discovered Slattery had additional rounds of ammunition inside his home, along with drug paraphernalia.
Deputies arrested Slattery and transported him to the Sarasota County Jail where he is charged with 11 counts of Possession of a Weapon or Ammunition by a Convicted Felon and one count of Possession of Narcotic Equipment. He is held on $83,000 bond.
