Multimedia Specialist


DUTIES

The Multimedia Specialist will be responsible for setting up and operating live television equipment to produce, broadcast, and host the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office in-house television program, emergency updates and community-based programming to the public. The Multimedia Specialist will develop concepts, scripts, sets, and all other necessary elements to produce video segments and programs that effectively communicate information about law enforcement initiatives and social media use. The Multimedia Specialist will also assist in developing bureau-specific material including but not limited to, video segments highlighting personnel profiles, hiring and recruitment efforts, NC4 training modules and interactive video blogs for SharePoint. This position must have a strong ability to tell stories succinctly through visuals and sounds and be proficient in the use of the Adobe Creative Suite. The Multimedia Specialist will also assist with the daily operations of the office and provide information, files and records to members of the media as requested. The Multimedia Specialist will utilize agency databases, creating communication tools and maintaining the agency’s website and social media platforms. 

STARTING SALARY
Salary range upon hire (determined by prior related experience)  $38,734 - $45,944
Long-term salary cap:  $64,640

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s Degree/Equivalent or higher preferred
  • 3-5 years related experience
  • 2-3 years Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Pro, Encore, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Television production experience preferred
  • Law Enforcement experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative
  • Ability to work in a time-sensitive but highly confidential environment
  • Understanding of Florida Public Records law
