James Campbell

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is advising the public that James Lester Campbell II, DOB 10/26/68, has registered as a Sexual Predator living in Sarasota County.

Campbell was convicted in 1994 in Manatee County on three counts of Attempted Capital Sexual Battery by an Adult with a Victim Under 12 Years Old. He was sentenced to ten years in prison followed by ten years of probation. In 2003, Campbell violated his probation and was sentenced to six months of community control followed by seven years of probation. He was also convicted in Sarasota County on October 31, 2019, of Lewd or Lascivious Conduct with a Child Under 12 Years Old. Campbell was designated a sexual predator and sentenced to two years of community control followed by three years of probation. He reports his address is 6855 Harmony Road in the city of North Port. Campbell is currently under the supervision of the Florida Department of Corrections and is not allowed to have contact with any minor children or live within 1,000 feet of a school, childcare facility, park or playground. Mandatory neighborhood notifications are being made.

This information is posted on the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office website, agency Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts to publicly notify citizens of sex offenders and predators who register a Sarasota County address for the first time, when moving into the county, or following a release from prison. Citizens should still sign up to receive notifications from FDLE of sex offender and predator registrations.
