Thanks to outstanding community support, Sheriff Tom Knight’s 10th Annual Corporate SWAT Challenge raised $25,000 for the Sheriff’s Activities League of Sarasota County.

On Saturday, ten teams comprised of local businesses and organizations spent the day at Knight Trail Park in Nokomis competing in four tactical events that required skill, endurance and strategy. The Corporate SWAT Challenge was designed so participants would have fun in a challenging but team-building atmosphere while raising money for local youth programs.

Sarasota Dental Group took first place, while two teams from CrossFit Megaladon took second and third. Other competing teams included Edward Jones sponsored by Pete Abbott, Gehring Group, Gecko’s Hillview and Gecko’s Fruitville, Daiquiri Deck, Intertape Polymer Group (IPG) and RevContent.

The event was sponsored by the Sunset Automotive Group with additional support from several individuals and businesses to include the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, Jon F. Swift Construction, Sarasota Trophy, 92.1 CTQ, Artistree, Massage Luxe, Let’s Jump Events, TPC Prestancia, Dick’s Sporting Goods, donor Janis Fawn, and many others.

Since its inception in 2010, Sheriff Tom Knight’s Corporate SWAT Challenge has raised more than $235,000 for children’s programs in this community.
