Sex Offender Registration

NEWS RELEASE 19-141 - AUGUST 15, 2019
Hamady, Kurtis
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public that Kurtis Hamady, DOB 05/01/74, has registered as a Sexual Offender temporarily living in Sarasota County.

Hamady was convicted in 1993 in Michigan of Third Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Victim 13 to 15 Years Old and Fourth Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct by Force or Coercion. He was sentenced to 15 to 24 months in prison. Hamady is visiting Sarasota County for 30 days and reports he will be staying in the area of Taft Drive and Benjamin Franklin Drive in the city of Sarasota. The registration of a “location” and not a physical address is allowable by Florida law for homeless or transient persons, but a transient offender or predator must register their address with the sheriff’s office every 30 days. Hamady is not currently under the supervision of the Florida Department of Corrections, and because the offense took place out of state, residency restrictions do not apply.

This information is posted on the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office website, agency Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts to publicly notify citizens of sexual offenders and predators who register a Sarasota County address for the first time, when moving into the county or following release from prison. Citizens should still sign up to receive notifications from FDLE of sex offenders and predator registrations.
