The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office charged a 45-year-old man Wednesday with 40 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

 

Detectives began their investigation in early July after receiving information that a particular IP address was used to possibly download and share images and videos of child pornography. On July 5, detectives executed a search warrant at 4915 Dorothy Avenue in Sarasota. The investigation revealed Thomas Peltier, DOB 08/31/73, lived at the residence and downloaded the images to his computer. During an interview, he admitted to using a file-sharing program on his laptop to download the content. Peltier was arrested July 5 and charged with five counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

 

Through continued investigation, detectives recovered an additional 40 images of child pornography on Peltier’s laptop. Today detectives charged him with an additional 40 counts of Possession of Child Pornography. He remains in custody today without bond.
