Sarasota Man Facing Felony Drug Charges

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man following a series of undercover drug buys and subsequent search warrant.
 
The investigation began in early June 2019, when Joshua Ryan, DOB 7/12/82, sold cocaine, heroin and prescription pills to undercover detectives on several occasions at his residence. Ryan was taken into custody yesterday with support of the U.S. Marshals on unrelated charges. Following his arrest, detectives executed a search warrant of his apartment, recovering 2.9 grams of cocaine and other drug paraphernalia hidden within the home. During a search of Ryan’s vehicle, detectives discovered an additional 0.5 grams of rock cocaine and 0.5 grams of fentanyl.
 
Ryan, of 500 N. Jefferson Street, Unit J-3, in Sarasota, is charged with one count of Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell and one count of Possession of Fentanyl with Intent to Sell. His extensive history includes arrests for Robbery, Burglary, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and several drug offenses. He is currently being held at the Sarasota County Jail on $15,000 bond.
