The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public that Gregory Miedema, DOB 12/08/88, has registered as a Sexual Offender living in Sarasota County.

 

Miedema was convicted in 2011 while serving the in the U.S. Army on one count of Lewd or Lascivious Battery, Intercourse with a Victim 12 to 15 Years Old and one count of Possession of Child Pornography. He was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison followed by two months of probation. Miedema recently relocated and reports his address is 7911 Lorraine Road in Sarasota. He is not currently under the supervision of the Florida Department of Corrections however, he is not allowed to live within 1,000 feet of a school, daycare facility, park or playground.

 

This information is posted on the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office website, agency Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts to publicly notify citizens of sexual offenders and predators who register a Sarasota County address for the first time, when moving into the county or following release from prison. Citizens should still sign up to receive notifications from FDLE of sex offenders and predator registrations.
