Sex Offender Registration

NEWS RELEASE 19-094
Kidder, Raymond
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public that Raymond Kidder, DOB 01/06/64, has registered as a Sexual Offender living in Sarasota County.

Kidder was convicted in 2014 in Sarasota County on one count of Obscene Communication While Using a Computer to Seduce, Solicit or Lure a Child, one count of Traveling to Seduce, Solicit or Entice a Child to Commit a Sex Act After Using a Computer, and one count of Abuse of a Child Without Great Bodily Harm. He was sentenced to six years in prison followed by four years of probation. Kidder was just released and reports he will live in the area of Washington Boulevard and 17th Street in Sarasota. The registration of a “location” and not a physical address is allowable by Florida law for homeless or transient persons, but a transient offender or predator must register their address with the sheriff’s office every 30 days. Kidder is currently under the supervision of the Florida Department of Corrections however, based on the criteria of his conviction, residency restrictions do not apply.

This information is posted on the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office website, agency Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts to publicly notify citizens of sexual offenders and predators who register a Sarasota County address for the first time, when moving into the county or following release from prison. Citizens should still sign up to receive notifications from FDLE of sex offenders and predator registrations.
