Convicted Felon Arrested on Drug and Weapons Charges

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested a convicted felon on drug and weapons charges Monday following a traffic stop.
 
Just before 7:00 p.m., patrol deputies on Clark Road near I-75 initiated a traffic stop on a white SUV with an expired registration. When deputies approached the driver, Terrence Bell, DOB 07/27/92, he admitted to driving on a suspended license. As Bell exited the car, deputies observed a plastic baggie containing several multi-colored pills which tested positive as MDMA, inside the driver’s door. During a search of the vehicle, a loaded 9mm handgun and a box of ammunition were located inside the glove box. Bell later admitted to possessing the drugs and firearm.
 
Bell, of 1730 24th Street in Sarasota, was arrested and taken to the Sarasota County Jail. He has one prior conviction for Robbery and four prior convictions for Driving While License Suspended. Bell is now charged with one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance, one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and one count of Driving While License Suspended. He was released Tuesday on $10,500 bond.
