The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating an Armed Robbery that occurred Tuesday night in Sarasota.

 

Deputies first responded to the Subway restaurant located at 5708 Clark Road just before 10:00 p.m. According to employees, a white male entered the business carrying a silver handgun with a bandana covering his face. The suspect demanded money from employees before fleeing southbound on foot. The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20’s, approximately 5’10” tall, and 175 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing dark clothing and gloves, while carrying a dark-colored backpack. A similar incident occurred on May 10, 2019, at a Chick-Fil-A restaurant on Fruitville Road in Sarasota. Detectives have reason to believe both incidents may be related.
