The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public that Clinton Smith, DOB 03/22/71, has registered as a Sexual Offender living in Sarasota County.

 

Smith was convicted in 1995 in Sarasota County on two counts of Lewd or Lascivious Act with a Child Under 16 Years Old. He was sentenced to one year of community control followed by five years of probation. Smith violated probation in 1997 and again in 1999 and was sentenced to two years and six months in prison. He recently relocated and reports his address is 8483 Herbison Avenue in North Port. Smith is not currently under the supervision of the Florida Department of Corrections, and because the sex offense occurred prior to 2004, residency restrictions do not apply.

 

This information is posted on the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office website, agency Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts to publicly notify citizens of sexual offenders and predators who register a Sarasota County address for the first time, when moving into the county or following release from prison. Citizens should still sign up to receive notifications from FDLE of sex offenders and predator registrations.
