NEWS RELEASE 19-072 - APRIL 25, 2019
Sandra Terry Presentation
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office today presented a check to the Laurel Civic Association and the Community Partnership Award to the organization’s executive director, Sandra Terry.

The funds came from seized or recovered cash that went unclaimed, and per state statute, can be distributed to a qualifying charity. Sheriff Knight’s donation to the program will support the continued programming that focus on education, social activities, support for the elderly and families, and access to safe and affordable housing. Sheriff Knight also presented Sandra Terry with an award to recognize her invaluable and longstanding partnership with the sheriff’s office. Terry, who has served the Laurel community for more than thirty years, will soon change roles and become the executive director emeritus while the organization transitions into new leadership.

“Our partnership with the Laurel community and specifically with Sandra, has been instrumental in so many ways,” commented Sheriff Tom Knight. “From the reduction in crime to the development of strong and sustainable relationships within the Laurel community, we owe Sandra credit and congratulate her on a job well done.”
