Sex Offender Registration

NEWS RELEASE 18-189 - NOVEMBER 27, 2018
Simmons, Ralph

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public that Ralph Simmons, DOB 09/30/57, has registered as a sexual offender living in Sarasota.

Simmons was convicted in 1995 in Sarasota County of Lewd or Lascivious Offenses Committed Upon or in the Presence of a Child Under 16 and sentenced to 90 days in jail followed by two years of probation. In April 2018, Simmons pled no contest to one count of Sex Offender Violation for Failure to Report Transient Information and was sentenced to one year in prison. Simmons was just released and reports he will live at 3021 N. Osprey Avenue in Sarasota. He is not currently under the supervision of the Department of Corrections and because his original conviction was prior to 2004, residency restrictions do not apply.

This information is posted on the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office website, mobile app, agency Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts to publicly notify citizens of sex offenders and predators who register a Sarasota County address for the first time, when moving into the county or following a release from prison. Citizens should still sign up to receive notifications from FDLE of sex offenders and predator registrations.
