The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested a 53-year-old Sarasota man Thursday for Possession of Child Pornography.

Detectives acting on a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children determined a particular IP address was used to download files previously identified as containing child pornography. Detectives confirmed the IP address was registered to 2895 Mira Loda Drive and obtained a search warrant for the property. Through investigation, detectives learned that David Goesel, DOB 12/08/64, was living at the home. During a search of the property and forensic scan of his computer, detectives discovered multiple images all determined to be child pornography.

Goesel was taken into custody and charged with 40 felony counts of Possession: Sexual Performance by a Child and one felony count of Transmission of Obscene Material.  He is held at the Sarasota County Jail without bond. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
