The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Sarasota woman for Grand Theft after connecting her with theft of more than $2,300 from a local business.
Deputies responded to Target located at 101 North Cattlemen Road in Sarasota just before 9:00 p.m. Thursday, for a report of an employee stealing money from the store’s registers. When deputies arrived, they spoke with Asset Protection and obtained video surveillance of Shakima R. Sanders, DOB 09/07/94, taking cash out of registers on several occasions beginning November 9. Through investigation, deputies confirmed the thefts with records of short-changed registers that coincided with the surveillance video.
Sanders was transported to the Sarasota County Jail and charged with one count of Grand Theft. She was released Friday on $10,000 bond.
