Convicted Felon Charged with Sale of Carfentanil

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Sarasota woman on multiple drug charges after detectives connected her with the sale of heroin, fentanyl and carfentanil. 

Special Investigations Section detectives began their investigation into convicted felon and prolific offender Lauren Cobb, DOB 06/05/84, on July 28 when she sold suspected heroin which later tested positive for fentanyl. During two additional drug buys on August 3 and August 10, Cobb again sold suspected heroin. One of two substances tested positive for carfentanil.

Cobb, of 5103 Island Date Street, was arrested Wednesday and charged with Sale of Carfentanil, Sale of Fentanyl, Sale of Heroin and Violation of Probation. She is currently being held at the Sarasota County Jail without bond. Her prior arrests include Child Neglect, Obstruction, Battery, and several drug charges. Cobb was released from prison in February where she served time for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Sale of Hydromorphone and Driving with License Suspended.
