                                                                                                                                      News Release #: 17-099 - APRIL 19, 2017

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public that Charles Leo Becker, DOB 01/09/64, has registered as a Sexual Offender living in Sarasota County.

Becker was convicted of Sexual Battery without Force Likely to Cause Injury in 1986 in Manatee County and sentenced to nine years in prison. Upon his release, he was convicted of Lewd or Lascivious Assault on a Child Under 16 in Sarasota County in 1993 and sentenced to an additional 10 years in prison. He was then convicted of Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements in 2010 and sentenced to 4 years in prison. He was released in 2013. Becker just moved from Pinellas County to Sarasota County and reports his address will be 2520 S. Scarlet Oak Court in Sarasota. He is not under the supervision of the Florida Department of Corrections and because his original conviction was prior to 2004, residency restrictions do not apply.

This information is posted on the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office website, agency Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts to publicly notify citizens of sex offenders and predators who register a Sarasota County address for the first time, when moving into the county or following a release from prison. Citizens should still sign up to receive notifications from FDLE of sex offenders and predator registrations.
