The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested a 55-year-old Sarasota man on 40 counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material.

Detectives received a tip in June from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) after three images and 21 videos depicting child pornography were uploaded to a Dropbox server. Through investigation, detectives utilized the IP address used to upload the images, to identify David T. Sanchez, Jr., DOB 06/10/66, as the suspect. A search by detectives of his Dropbox account yielded more than 450 explicit images and videos with victims ranging in age from infant to 14 years old. During an interview, Sanchez admitted to searching the dark web to download the files on his personal electronic devices.

Sanchez, of 4750 Acorn Circle, was arrested Wednesday and remains in custody today at the Sarasota County Correctional Facility on $40,000 bond. The investigation continues.
