The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested a 29-year-old Sarasota man on 10 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
Detectives received a tip in March from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) after two images depicting child pornography were sent in direct messages on Instagram. Through investigation, detectives utilized the IP address used to send the images, to identify Nicholas Groch, DOB 06/13/93, as the suspect. A search by detectives of Groch’s Instagram account and cellphone yielded a total of 10 images depicting child pornography.
Groch, of 9610 Club South Circle, Unit 4109, was arrested Friday and released Sunday on $50,000 bond. The investigation continues.
