Child Pornography Arrest

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested a 68-year-old Nokomis man on more than 60 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

Detectives received two tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that a particular IP address was used to upload child pornography online. On Thursday, detectives executed a search warrant at 255 N. Tamiami Trail, Lot 16, in Nokomis. Through investigation, detectives learned Michael Summite, DOB 03/12/52, lived alone at the residence and possessed child pornography on his electronic devices. During their search, detectives recovered 66 images depicting child pornography with victims ranging in age from 2 to 14 years old.

Summite was arrested and taken to the Sarasota County Correctional Facility where he is charged with 66 felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography. He remains in custody today without bond while the investigation continues.
