The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested a 19-year-old Sarasota man Wednesday for Possession of Child Pornography.
Detectives received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) after a photo depicting child pornography was uploaded to Snapchat. Through investigation, detectives utilized the IP address used to upload the photo to identify Ryan Mayer, DOB 07/19/00, as the suspect. On Wednesday afternoon, detectives executed a search warrant on Mayer’s cell phone, recovering 11 images and videos of child pornography.
Mayer, of 3964 Middlesex Place, is charged with 11 felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography and remains in custody today on $5,500 bond. The investigation is ongoing.
