NEWS RELEASE 20-047 - MARCH 25, 2020
Negron-Cruz, Bradley

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested a 27-year-old Sarasota man for Possession of Child Pornography and Possession of an Explosive Device.

Detectives received information that a particular IP address was used to both upload and download more than 100 images of child pornography to the video application, Skype. A search warrant was executed at 4260 Bell Avenue in Sarasota. Through investigation, detectives learned Bradley Negron-Cruz, DOB 09/19/92, lived at the residence and was responsible for the Skype account. During their search, deputies located several incendiary devices in the form of breakable glass bottles containing flammable substances often referred to as ‘Molotov cocktails.’ During an interview, Negron-Cruz admitted to destroying his electronic devices so law enforcement would not be able to recover the images, and explained he made the incendiary devices for the purpose of self-defense.

Today Negron-Cruz faces 40 felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography, a single felony count of Distribution of Child Pornography, and a single felony count of Possession of an Explosive Device. He remains in custody today without bond.
