The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested a 53-year-old Sarasota man Friday for Possession of Child Pornography.
Detectives received information that a particular email address and two phone numbers were utilized to download more than 90 images of child pornography. Through investigation, detectives identified Thomas C. Cook, DOB 07/12/66, as the suspect responsible for the downloads. On Friday, Cook was arrested on an unrelated charge for Failure to Appear and during an interview, admitted to searching for and downloading the images.
Today he remains in custody on 40 felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography and a single count of Failure to Appear. Cook’s bond is set at $200,100 while the investigation continues.
