Trafficking in Cocaine Arrest

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 33-year-old Bradenton man on a drug trafficking charge after he sold undercover detectives cocaine on three separate occasions.
 
The investigation began in November when Chadwick Stephens, DOB 09/04/86, sold Special Investigation Section detectives just more than three grams of cocaine. During the transaction, Stephens offered to sell larger quantities to detectives in the future. On two separate occasions in November and December, Stephens met detectives and sold a combined 83 grams of the drug. Stephens was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of Sale of Cocaine and a single count of Trafficking in Cocaine. He remains in custody today on $22,500 bond.
 
Stephens, of 809 3rd Avenue E., has prior arrests for Possession of Heroin with Intent to Sell, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Marijuana More than 20 Grams.
