Religious Program Coordinator


DUTIES
The Religious Program Coordinator will perform a variety of duties to include but not limited to scheduling the religious programs, conducting death notifications, coordinating chaplain visits, acquiring and distributing religious texts. He/She will provide counseling to incarcerated individuals of all religious faiths. The coordinator will maintain knowledge of the Federal/State laws and departmental policies governing the delivery of religious programs for the incarcerated individuals. The Religious Program Coordinator will be a liaison between the correctional facility, local programs and agencies dedicated to spiritual growth. The coordinator will assure equal status and protection for all religions represented by those incarcerated.

STARTING SALARY
Salary range upon hire: $ 54,620 - $ 62,940 (determined by acceptable prior related experience).
Long-term salary cap: $ 77,500.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • An associate’s degree in Theology, Sacred Studies, Ministry, Religious Studies, Comparative Religions, Philosophy of Religion or equivalent from an accredited graduate school or university.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a related position.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision and to initiate and complete duties using efficient time management skills.
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of computer and office equipment as required to perform the positions tasks.
  • Effectively communicate information, both verbal and written, demonstrating awareness for human diversity to citizens and colleagues.
