DUTIES
Under the general supervision of the Fleet Administrator, the radio technician will perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to:
- Outfitting new vehicles with radios, lights, siren, prisoner partitions, prisoner seats, laptops, printers, radars, in car video system and other items deemed necessary.
- Install emergency equipment on ATV’s, UTV’s, boats, motorcycles etc.
- Maintenance and repair of equipment in said vehicles (troubleshooting, repairs).
- Programming, maintenance, and repair of Whelen light bars/all emergency lighting and sirens.
- Diagnose and repair the after-market heat alarm system in the K-9 and animal services vehicles.
- Decommissioning existing vehicles to loaner and school vehicles and vehicles going to auction.
- Performs other work assignments as directed.
STARTING SALARY
Salary range upon hire: $34,431 - $42,267 (determined by acceptable prior related experience).
Long-term salary cap: $59,213.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma/equivalent or higher
- 2 - 4 years related automotive experience.
- ASE Certifications
- Must have a basic knowledge of electronics, computer, hand tools, and electronic diagrams.
