Public Records Supervisor


DUTIES
Under the supervision of the Records Manager, the Public Records Supervisor will have immediate supervisory authority over the Public Records Technicians in the Public Records Unit. This will include overall control of daily workflow. The Public Records Unit maintains a focus on managing and completing all incoming public records requests from within and outside the agency, documenting and tracking all dates relevant to public records requests, corresponding with parties requesting public records, preparing written cost estimates in conjunction with public requests, collaborating with agency personnel to ascertain the volume and nature of the records requested, performing and coordinating redaction of confidential, exempt, and sensitive information, utilizing agency software to identify, organize, and redact public records, remaining current on laws potentially impacting public records, and maintaining and updating a list of exemptions to public records per Florida law.

STARTING SALARY
Salary range upon hire: $74,692 - $79,684 (determined by acceptable prior related experience)
Long-term salary cap: $88,420

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • An associate degree from an accredited institution and four years related experience or a high school diploma and six years of related experience.
  • Computer literate demonstrating proficiency inputting and retrieving information required to perform position tasks.
  • Detail-oriented demonstrating excellent organizational skills with ability to work independently as well as multi-task.
  • Ability to work in a time-sensitive but highly confidential environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information, verbal and written, to citizens, courts, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of Florida public record laws and exemptions.
  • Perform other related duties, as necessary.
