Paralegal


DUTIES
The Paralegal will be responsible for performing various legal support functions including but not limited to:
  • Conducting legal research and drafting pleadings.
  • Composing correspondence.
  • Maintaining appropriate files and lists (i.e. contracts, forfeitures, risk protection orders, U-Visas, litigation, notice of claims, EEOC complaints, etc.)
  • Reviewing contracts, memoranda of understanding, and interagency agreements for conformity and ensuring that the terms and signatories are current.
  • Responding to discovery requests.
  • Assisting with public records requests.
  • Assisting attorneys with evidentiary hearing preparation.
STARTING SALARY
Salary range upon hire:  $46,612 - $54,612 (determined by acceptable prior related experience).
Long-term salary cap:  $68,612.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT
  • Associates Degree in related field.
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience.
  • Must possess excellent time management skills relating to daily work activities, tasks, and special assignments.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct independent research and data gathering.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Paralegal certificate preferred.
  • Membership in paralegal organizations preferred.
