DUTIES
The Paralegal will be responsible for performing various legal support functions including but not limited to:
- Conducting legal research and drafting pleadings.
- Composing correspondence.
- Maintaining appropriate files and lists (i.e. contracts, forfeitures, risk protection orders, U-Visas, litigation, notice of claims, EEOC complaints, etc.)
- Reviewing contracts, memoranda of understanding, and interagency agreements for conformity and ensuring that the terms and signatories are current.
- Responding to discovery requests.
- Assisting with public records requests.
- Assisting attorneys with evidentiary hearing preparation.
Salary range upon hire: $46,612 - $54,612 (determined by acceptable prior related experience).
Long-term salary cap: $68,612.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT
- Associates Degree in related field.
- Minimum of four years of related work experience.
- Must possess excellent time management skills relating to daily work activities, tasks, and special assignments.
- Demonstrates strong communication skills.
- Ability to conduct independent research and data gathering.
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a time-sensitive environment.
- Paralegal certificate preferred.
- Membership in paralegal organizations preferred.
