DUTIES
- The Latent Print Examiner will engage in a variety of activities including, but not limited to:
- Evaluating latent prints.
- Search latent prints in Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems.
- Update AFIS latent files.
- Prepare reports.
- Testify in court.
- Verify identifications.
- Provide latent print technical assistance regarding latent print matters.
- Prepare well organized, detailed, factual, and informative exhibits for court proceedings at the request of the SAO.
Salary range upon hire: $39,896 - $48,977 (determined by acceptable prior related experience).
Long-term salary cap: $68,612.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Certification in latent print examination through the International Association for Identification desirable.
- Two (2) years related work experience.
- Knowledge of print characteristics/classifications.
- Demonstrate adequate skill in the use of computer/office equipment.
- Efficient in time management skills relating to daily work activities, tasks and special assignments.
- Ability to effectively communicate, verbal and written, demonstrating an awareness for human diversity to citizens and colleagues.
