DUTIES
This is a complex position involving the coordination and administration of the entire AFIS system which ensures the operation of a ten print and latent print computerized program. Work requires specialized knowledge of AFIS workflow which is learned through a combination of training and specialized schools. Knowledge of Florida State Statute 943.0435 regarding registration, tracking, confirmation, and public notification requirements of specified offenders/predators is required. This position supervises the Fingerprint/Offender Registration Technician, Ten Print Technician and Latent Print Examiner.
STARTING SALARY
Salary range upon hire: $46,454 - $57,027 (determined by acceptable prior related experience).
Long-term salary cap: $79,891.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Certification in latent print examination through the International Association for Identification desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- Five years related work experience.
- Knowledge of fingerprint identification systems, light sources and magnification devices.
- Demonstrated skill in the use of computer and office equipment required to perform position tasks.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written, demonstrating awareness for human diversity to citizens and colleagues.
