triad signing

Sheriff Balkwill, along with the head representatives from local law enforcement agencies, is seen above signing the annual TRIAD agreement

According to the most recent statistics, Sarasota County has the highest percentage of people over 50 years of age in the Nation.  Many live on fixed incomes and/or interest from savings accounts and bonds.

Seniors are particularly at risk to be victimized by "get rich schemes" such as lotteries and fraudulent investments, dishonest telemarketing and home repair scams.

Education is the first and the biggest step in crime prevention.... people who are made aware of fraudulent schemes and the techniques used to defraud are less likely to become victims.
