Employment Hiring Prerequisites
Corrections Applicants
-
Must be
a United States citizen.
-
Must be at least 21 years of age.
-
Must
possess a High School Diploma or GED.
-
Must possess an Associates Degree or equivalent or a Veteran with an honorable
discharge unless Florida Corrections Certified or currently attending a
Florida Corrections Academy.
-
Must successfully complete the FBAT (Florida Basic
Abilities Test) if not corrections certified. Required by FDLE for entrance into the Corrections Recruit
Academy.

Must
meet the minimum standards of the Agency approved physical abilities test
(PAT).

Must
successfully complete an oral review board and meet eligibility score.

Must
have a valid Florida Drivers License.

Must
meet the Agency approved Drug Policy.
-
Must
submit to complete background investigation and found to be of good moral
character, polygraph, and psychological screening exam.

Must
submit to a complete physical examination including drug screen,
hearing, and vision.
