The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office and Sarasota County Technical Institute (SCTI) Adult & Community Enrichment (ACE) program have teamed up to offer Women’s Self Defense classes for the 2012 Fall Session.
The nine-hour course is taught by experienced Sheriff’s Deputies and is designed to teach women basic self-defense concepts. Students should wear comfortable clothing since the class contains hands-on practical application of defensive techniques.
The class is held on Wednesday nights from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., for three weeks. The course begins on November 14th but skips a week due to the Thanksgiving holiday and continues November 28th and December 5th.
The classes are held at the Criminal Justice Academy on the SCTI campus, 4748 Beneva Road, Sarasota. Cost is $99.
