The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has arrested Kristen Mandia, DOB 8/30/88, 4151 Palau Drive, Sarasota, in connection with a string of recent vehicle burglaries.

Mandia is facing 13 charges for six crimes over the past six weeks including Grand Theft, Burglary, Larceny and Fraud.

Detectives determined that Mandia stole cash and credit cards from unlocked vehicles, primarily in neighborhoods near Bee Ridge Road and Interstate 75. She used the cards to make close to $1,000 in purchases at area stores. Mandia was identified through surveillance video and in one transaction had to swipe her Driver’s License which captured her date of birth.

Mandia is currently being held without bond on three charges and $37,120 on the remaining charges. The investigation into her recent activity is continuing.

Residents throughout Sarasota County are reminded to remove valuables from their vehicles and keep vehicle doors locked at all times.
