----------------------------
The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing 82-year-old man who was last seen in the 3200 block of Leonard Reid Avenue in Sarasota this morning.
Eddie Lee Dejerinett, Sr., was wearing a gray suit and a black hat when he left his home around 10:00 a.m., to go to church and the library. He was driving a 1999 white Lincoln Continental with a Florida tag L412JD.
Dejerinett has dementia and is a member of Project Lifesaver, so he wears a special bracelet with a small transmitter which emits a signal that law enforcement can track. While that resource is being implemented, the Sheriff’s Office would also like citizens to be on the lookout for Dejerinett and his vehicle.
The Sheriff’s Office is currently working with FDLE regarding a Silver Alert. Anyone who sees Dejerinett or has information on his whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 or the non-emergency number 941.316.1201.
