Update 8/6/12: The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has been notified that Sam Dreher, the victim in Saturday's shooting, died at 9:44 p.m., last night. The arrest affidavit for Michael Minor is being amended to charge him with First Degree Murder, in addition to the Attempted Armed Robbery and Armed Burglary charges.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Michael Minor, DOB 4/27/85, 1914 North Conrad Avenue, Sarasota, in connection with the shooting at 5070 Central Sarasota Parkway, around 3:00 p.m., Saturday afternoon.
Detectives say Minor went to the apartment to retrieve items he believed were in a vehicle belonging to 39-year-old Sam Dreher, 6272 Van Camp Street, North Port. Minor entered the vehicle but was confronted by Dreher, and at that time Minor demanded the victim's wallet and cell phone. The two men argued and when Dreher saw the 9mm handgun in Minor’s possession he fled up the stairs. Dreher was shot two times.
Deputies arrived on scene and Minor was taken into custody without incident.
Minor is charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Attempted Robbery with a Firearm and Burglary with a Firearm. Dreher is on life support at Blake Medical Center and is not expected to survive. In the event of his death a charge of First Degree Murder will be filed against Minor.
