The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has apprehended the final suspect in an armed robbery that occurred at the Hibiscus Inn on Stickney Point Road in Sarasota on July 13, 2012.

Detectives determined that Raheem Maxwell, DOB 2/25/91, 2309 Leon Avenue, Sarasota, was the man who fled from deputies when they located the red Ford Mustang convertible used in the crime. At the time, deputies arrested Lea Canty and Chastity Edwards, but neither suspect would name their male accomplice. A check of the women’s Facebook accounts led detectives to Maxwell, who was subsequently identified by the victim.

Maxwell, who has an extensive violent criminal history, was charged Wednesday with Robbery and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. He was arrested at the Sarasota County Jail where he was already being held on multiple charges filed against him Monday by the Sarasota Police Department.
