More Charges in Burglary Case

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has connected at least five other burglary cases to Michael Sterlace, DOB 06/10/86, 4160 Fruitville Road, Apt. 5 Sarasota, who was arrested Monday for the burglary on Stone Ridge Trail in which the homeowner fired two shots at the suspect before he fled.

Today over one hundred items that were confiscated from the residence of Sterlace were put on display for other burglary victims to identify. About half of the items recovered were reunited with their owners. Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in locating other owners of the confiscated items.

If you or someone you know was the victim of a burglary in the areas of McIntosh Rd and Bahia Vista Street, Proctor and Swift Roads near Riverwood Ave., or Fruitville and McIntosh Roads you are encouraged to call Criminal Investigations at 941-861-4900 or contact Crime Stoppers by calling 941-361-TIPS (8477).
