Arrest for Child Pornography

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has arrested John Anthony Hughes, DOB 11/3/70, 1302 Overbrook Road, Englewood, for possession of child pornography.

As a result of an investigation over the past few months by a detective with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, deputies executed a search warrant at Hughes’s home today. Detectives located video and image files on the suspect’s desktop and laptop computers. These images depict children as young as approximately five years old and no more than 14 years old involved in sexual conduct.

Hughes was booked into the Sarasota County Jail and charged with 50 counts of Possession: Sexual Performance by a Child. He is currently being held on $125,000 bond.
