Murder Arrest

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has arrested Charles Dailey, Jr., DOB 3/10/84, in connection with the shooting death of a Sarasota man early this morning.

Deputies responded to 2652 26th Street at 4:00 a.m., after Dailey called 9-1-1 and reported that he had shot and killed his step-father. After the shooting Dailey said he put the gun on the couch and waited with two family members for deputies to arrive.

Once on scene deputies found the victim, 54-year-old Anthony Waters, deceased.

Dailey is charged with Second Degree Murder and has been booked into the Sarasota County Jail where he is currently being held without bond.
