The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred at 10:18 a.m., today in Sarasota.

A Civil Deputy was serving a Final Notice of Eviction to the resident of a duplex at 2601 Ringling Boulevard, at the corner of Euclid Avenue, when a man answered the door with a weapon. In response to the threat the deputy fired his weapon, wounding the subject.

The man was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital and according to EMS was in stable condition. He has since been transferred to another medical facility for treatment.
